TMZ reported that, at the event hosted by Tina Knowles Lawson and her husband Richard Lawson's WACO Theater, the filmmaker partook in an art bid for a portrait of the late Nipsey Hussle.

Perry, who was the Trailblazer Award honoree of the night, got into a bidding war with fellow honoree Felicia Horowitz for the Tiffanie Anderson piece.

Made up of acrylic, mica flakes, crystal, broken glass and resin on a wood panel, the bidding for the portrait began at $50,000 and went way up to $100,000.
