The U.S. Coast Guard launched a search for the woman, who was not identified, after she fell around 2:30 a.m. from the 11th deck of the Carnival Ecstasy cruise ship.
Miami-based Coast Guard helicopter, airplane and cutter crews were sent to the area, between Florida and the Bahamas, to search for the woman.
The 855-foot Carnival Ecstasy, which can carry more than 2,000 passengers and 920 crewmembers, last stopped Tuesday in Nassau in the Bahamas. It was scheduled to next stop Thursday in Charleston, South Carolina.
