That prompted a flurry of responses, including, “What? This is very bad news!!” and “That’s sad! I go past there often but didn’t notice. I haven’t been there in years, so I’m probably part of the problem.”
An employee of Belmont Party Supply next door to the DQ confirmed the closure, saying the ice cream shop did not reopen this spring. And Belmont Party Supply owner Mike Schwartz jumped on the Facebook thread to say, “I own that building, and it’s for rent. It does not have to be rented as a DQ. I will help (financially) with the build-out.”

Meanwhile, those looking for their Dilly Bar fix will have to travel to the Shroyer Road location on the Dayton-Oakwood border, or to Kettering, Riverside or Beavercreek, to satisfy their craving.
