The company has opened six total stores in Ohio, with plans to continue its expansion from the East Coast, said regional manager Erik Franklin.
The store offers a 15 percent discount to college students, teachers and military members every day.

A.C. Moore is different than its competitors because of the in-house artificial flower design department, Franklin said, adding that over the last several years, other arts and crafts stores have stopped offering floral design for wedding bouquets, tombstone decorations and other artificial floral arrangements.
About 70 percent of the store’s merchandise is private label, including top-rated Nicole brand yarn. The ownership is particular proud of its $1 wooden figures for children to use in art project, Franklin said.
In the back of the store, A.C. Moore has a classroom where it will hold classes on how to make crafts using only items sold within the store. From birthday parties to knitting circles, Franklin said A.C. Moore tries to get the community involved.

Especially with the holidays approaching, he said a popular item to make will be deco mesh wreaths.
“They look intimidating when you go to buy them, but we can take the time to teach you how to make one,” Franklin said.
The store also will also feature a wide toy assortment with games, seasonal departments and a robust customer loyalty program.
“The A.C. Moore brand is thriving, and with multiple area stores opening this year, the company is positioned to become the new destination for the creative community in Ohio,” said A.C. Moore President Anthony Piperno in a statement. “We look forward to sharing our brand, products and vision with the community, and providing inspiration and an unmatched in-store shopping experience to area artists, crafters, teachers and moms.”
Started in New Jersey in 1985, A.C. Moore now has over 140 locations including one in Hamilton County that opened in June.
