New Beavercreek restaurant pushes back its opening date

Chuy’s Tex-Mex sets Dec. 15 ribbon-cutting for its 2nd Dayton-area location

The opening of the Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek has been postponed until Dec. 15, a Chuy’s spokeswoman said today.

The restaurant had been scheduled to open in mid-November. The postponement was due to a construction delay, the spokeswoman said.

The new Chuy’s will host a ribbon-cutting at 10:45 a.m. Dec. 15 and will open its doors to the public at 11 a.m.

The restaurant is expected to employ about 175 at opening, and some "back-of-the-house" positions are still available, a spokeswoman for the Austin, Texas-based chain said. Those interested in applying can call (512) 560-0120 with questions or download an application at Chuys.com/#/employment.

Chuy’s will occupy a 6,500-square-foot free-standing building with patio space southeast of the Mall at Fairfield Commons’ new main entrance, mall officials have said. WP Glimcher, the owner of the mall, demolished a section of the mall that formerly housed department stores to pave the way for additional restaurant space.

Chuy’s first Dayton-area location opened in April 2015 in the Austin Landing development in Miami Twp. The chain also operates a restaurant in Madeira near Cincinnati and is looking to expand into other regions in Ohio beyond Dayton and Cincinnati, a company spokeswoman has said.
