NEW DETAILS: Auto mall move to site across I-75 in Miamisburg faces rezoning

Plans have been submitted to move one of the Dayton area’s biggest auto malls to a larger site.

The city of Miamisburg has received documents for Matt Castrucci to move his dealership’s across Interstate 75.

An application has been submitted to rezone the new property on Byers Road, which the city changed to a special development district last year, Miamisburg City Planner Ryan Homsi said.

Plans call to develop about 30 of the 38 acres Mall Park Properties bought last year for $5.1 million. The proposal includes about 150,000 square feet of buildings with nearly 2,900 parking spaces, Homsi said.

The move from Mall Park Drive to Byers near Lyons Road would take the business from a spot north of the Dayton Mall to west of it.

The proposal may go Miamisburg City Council next month for before being reviewed by the planning commission, Homsi said.

Council would then hold a public hearing later this spring or in the early summer, he said.

In 2017, Castrucci told the Dayton Daily News exclusively that the Castrucci group of auto dealerships was planning the move to effectively double its space.
