New ‘Sky Asian Cuisine’ gearing up to open in Kettering

A new restaurant named Sky Asian Cuisine is gearing up to open this spring in space that has been vacant for more than a year and a half at 4090 Wilmington Pike south of Stroop Road in Kettering.

The restaurant will seat about 120 and will employ 30 to 40, according to co-owner Tim He, who also operates He5 Asian Bistro in Troy. It will focus on Asian fusion specialties, and will offer several seafood dishes, He said. It will be open for lunch and dinner daily, and will have a full liquor license.

Specialty cocktails featuring Asian flavors will be available, and the restaurant will have a private room for meetings and parties, He said.

The space, across from the Kettering Meijer store, previously housed Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill and, before that, Starlite Diner. It was originally a Perkins restaurant. Sidelines shut down in August 2014.
