A new wine and craft-beer shop is in an early stage of development in Beavercreek.

Plans call for the shop to be called "Bear's Wine Cellar," and a Bear's Wine Cellar Facebook page has been created. Founders Jenny and Barry Besecker cautioned that they have not yet signed a lease for the new wine-and-beer store, but said plans call for a late spring-early summer opening of a shop that will offer tastings as well as fine wines and craft beers sold at retail.

The founders are looking at space just west of the North Fairfield Road/Dayton-Xenia Road intersection, in a new retail center that is still under construction across from a CVS drug store.

The Beseckers met with some of the customers of Bruning's Wine Cellar, the Beavercreek wine shop that shut down earlier this month, at one of its final gatherings to let them know about plans for the new business.

The Bear’s Wine Cellar Facebook page notes that the couple purchased wine racks from Bruning’s and thanked its owner, Mike Yegerlehner, “for providing wine, beer, and great tastings over the years. We look forward to keeping these things going at the new store.”
