NYC firm acquires One Call Now

A New York City-based mass notification company has acquired One Call Now, a message notification service firm headquartered in Vandalia, company officials announced Monday.

Send Word Now has purchased One Call Now. An affiliate of MSD Partners L.P. provided financing for the transaction. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Officials said the acquisition builds on both companies’ strong track records of growth, while creating a full-spectrum of offerings for both critical and routine communications.

One Call Now “has demonstrated impressive growth through its success in delivering outstanding group messaging services to a variety of markets. The acquisition will complement Send Word Now’s own dynamic success and growth trajectory, resulting in a single, unmatched global notification provider,” said Tony Schmitz, Send Word Now president and chief executive, in a statement.

One Call Now President Leib Lurie said the acquisition makes the two communications companies stronger together.

“I am truly excited about the acquisition and what it means for the future of critical communications,” Lurie said in a statement.

One Call Now was founded in 2002 and recently relocated its corporate headquarters from Troy to 6450 Poe Avenue in Vandalia.
