DP&L offers rebates for old appliances

Dayton Power and Light is offering $50 rebates for each working refrigerator or freezer dropped off this week at the Montgomery County Solid Waste District Transfer and Recycling Facility, the company said.

Thursday through Saturday, Montgomery County is waiving its normal appliance drop-off charge at the facility as part of the event, DP&L said in a release. The utility will pay $50 for each working refrigerator or freezer dropped off and $20 for each working room air conditioner or dehumidifier.

The offers are good 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the facility, 1001 Encrete Lane, Moraine.

As part of its overall recycling program, DP&L will pick up appliances for free and pay customers a $50 rebate. Visit DP&L's web site for more information.
