WINERY GUIDE: Where to enjoy wine in southwest Ohio
The Finger Lakes wine competition attracted 3,077 entries from 621 wineries representing 16 countries. Of the 3,077 entries, 88 —or less than 3 percent — scored a double-gold medal, which is awarded when all of the members of a judging panel rate the wine a gold medal.
“This is just another example that shows Southwest Ohio produces exceptional wines,” Hanover owners Eddie and Beth McDonald told this news outlet. “Hanover Winery is honored to be recognized.”
Hanover’s 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 18 months in oak barrels prior to release in December 2016. Beth McDonald said the wine is available at several southwest Ohio Kroger locations, including: Hamilton, Middletown, Austin Landing, Fairfield, Harper’s Point, Harrison, Hyde Park and Milford, as well as at the winery at 2121 Morman Road in Hanover Twp.

The winery opened in 2009. It produces more than 25 wines across a broad spectrum of dry to sweet. Last year, Hanover Winery’s founders announced they had expanded their production facilities and were planting more than 2,000 grapevines in new vineyards.
