Death for bomber?

Readers weighed in on whether the death penalty is deserved in the Boston marathon bombing case.

— “He should be given a life sentence. … Then he may have a chance to think about his actions for a long time, and repent of them.”

— “I’m opposed to the death penalty because all the appeals and delays make it more expensive than life in prison; because the possibility of executing someone who is actually innocent still exists; and because we are so bad at the actual executions. I am not opposed to putting Tsarnaev in the general population in prison and letting the professionals kill him cheaply and painfully.”

— “The police should have shot him when they found him. Saved wasted taxpayer money on a scumbag that doesn’t deserve to be walking the earth. Second choice would have been Gitmo; no way he should have had a trial in Boston. He’s a terrorist, plain and simple.”
