OSP: Alcohol suspected in Clark County crash that injures 2

Alcohol is suspected Sunday night in a crash that sent two people to local hospitals.

A Chevrolet pickup truck veered off Urbana Road around 8:45 p.m. and struck a stone neighborhood entrance monument just north of Villa Road, Sgt. Merrill Thompson with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post said.

A woman driving the pickup veered off the right side of the road and into the wall. She was alert and conscious when she was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Thompson said.

Her passenger, a man, was taken with minor injuries to Springfield Regional Medical Center.

“Alcohol is believed to be a factor,” Thompson said.

The crash remains under investigation, and the names, ages and hometowns of the two injured were not released.
