OSP arrest 3 from Cali, seize pot in bumper

The Ohio Highway Patrol arrested three people from California and seized several hundred thousand dollars worth of marijuana that was hidden in the vehicle’s front bumper.

Almanzo Soeun, 20, Da Seth, 25, and Walter Lee Rath, 21, were arrested on suspicion of drug abuse and trafficking, both second degree felonies, according to OSP.

The arrests come after troopers stopped a 2010 Honda Civic for following too closely while traveling east on the Ohio Tunpike around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to OSP.

After a drug-sniffing K9 alerted officers to the vehicle, troopers searched and discovered 65 pounds of marijuana packed into the front bumper, valued at $416,000, according to OSP.

If convicted, the suspects face a maximum of 16 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
