Overnight Chase Ends With Driver In Custody

Law enforcement from several jurisdictions said they chased a man early Monday morning after he allegedly stole a vehicle.

The chase began around 2:30 a.m. near the town of Sharonville, which is north of Cincinnati. Police said they got reports of a car that was allegedly stolen from Butler County and tried to pull a driver over.

Investigators said the driver refused to stop and led officers, including the Ohio State Patrol north on Interstate 75 toward Dayton. Police said the driver attempted to exit I-75 at the Route 123 exit but struck the exit sign instead and crashed.

Police said speeds reached close to 110 mph.

Authorities said the driver fled the scene on foot, but was captured a short time later after K-9 dogs located the man at a nearby business.

Police said the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Once released, he will be taken to the Hamilton County Jail.

Investigators said he is facing several felony charges.
