Owner of over 150 dogs in Mercer Co. speaks

Admits the situation is "out of control hand"

(On Friday the owner of the dogs, Judy Briner of near Fort Recovery in southern Mercer County said, "I agree the situation got out of hand.")

Eight dogs were euthanized after as many as 200 dogs were found at a Mercer County property Wednesday.

A search warrant was executed at 972 Ohio 49, and upon searching the property, deputies found an estimated 150 to 200 dogs in the main house, out buildings and campers on the property, according to a release.

Nineteen dogs, including seven puppies and their mother were removed from the residence. Of those dogs, eight were deemed to be terminally ill and were euthanized by a local veterinarian, according to the release.

Charges are likely to be filed in an attempt to obtain additional court orders to control the number of dogs on the property.
