Pair replacing West Carrollton board president, longtime incumbent

The West Carrollton City Schools Board of Education will be taking on a new look this year.

Two new board members tonight will be taking oaths to replace a pair of longtime officeholders, including the 2017 president. A new president and vice president are also scheduled to be elected when the board meets at 6 p.m., according to the agenda.

Joe Cox and Jonathon Lewallen will be filling the seats formerly occupied by Debbie Bobbitt and Roberta Phillips, last year’s president. Cox defeated Bobbitt in the November election. Lewallen ran unopposed as Phillips did not seek re-election to the five-member board that includes parts of Miami Twp. and Moraine.

The meeting is scheduled to occur in the community room at West Carrollton High School, 5833 Student St.
