Panera to build new restaurant in Huber Heights

Panera Bread is planning to open a new restaurant in Huber Heights this year.

Panera submitted zoning permits to the city this week to build a 4,659-square-foot restaurant at 8104 Old Troy Pike, behind the Mattress Firm, according to Huber Heights assistant city manager Scott Falkowski.

Panera also was expected to submit building permits to the county, Falkowski said.

Construction is estimated to start late spring and be completed by the end of the summer. The restaurant also will feature a drive-thru and outdoor concrete patio area.

“They’ve got the highway access and visibility, and we think it’s going to do well,” Falkowski said. “It’s a restaurant that’s a little different than what the city has now. We’re always excited to have a little more variety come to the city.”
