Voter turnout Monday morning was large, and those who came out to vote had to walk quite a ways up a large hill to get to the DAV building.
Deputies tried to control the traffic going in and out of the DAV parking lot. Officials said some people had to climb barriers in order to get to the building.
One man who owns 32 acres of land next to the DAV building gave his permission for people to park on his grounds.
Despite the time spent trying to get to the building, the workers seemed determined to wait it out, saying the vote was much too important to blow off.
