Poker Tournament Canceled; Ohio AG Gets Restraining Order

A Dayton poker tournament was canceled after Ohio’s attorney general got a restraining order.

The big Hold 'Em Tournament was supposed to start on Thursday at the Dayton Convention Center. Attorney General Jim Petro filed a lawsuit, claiming local businessman Reece Powers stole thousands of dollars from the proceeds from other events like these.

Petro said the money was supposed to go to charities.

Powers, of Reece’s Las Vegas Supplies, said, “My company makes good money. Not money what charities make, but good money.”

The case goes to court later this month to decide if Powers’ tournaments should be stopped permanently.
