Minutes later, police said, just after 8 p.m., a resident on Woodbine called 911, reporting that two men were fighting in the driveway of a home and heard shots being fired.
Police said the two men were identified as David Friley, 38, and his 50-year-old uncle. Friley allegedly beat his uncle and then stole his pickup truck.
Officers put out a police bulletin and then descended to the Kettering neighborhood after a Kettering officer tired to pull Friley over. Friley then forced his way into a home of an acquaintance on Aragon Avenue South.
After a nearly three-hour standoff, Friley surrendered peacefully.
