Franklin police are investigating the theft of tools following a break-in of a trailer that was parked last weekend at Schenck Elementary School.
Police were notified about 12:30 p.m. Monday about the break-in and theft of a pair of tool belts and tools that belonged to construction students from the Warren County Career Center.
Superintendent Michael Sander said the construction students were providing the labor for a shelter at the school. Sander said the school’s PTA had saved about $10,000 over three years to pay for the materials for the project.
“It was something they wanted to do,” Sander said.
No other information was available about the break-in from police or career center officials.
