At 5:54 p.m., the DP&L online map shows 172 outages in Montgomery County, down from a peak of 1,554.
No word from DP&L about a possible cause for the outage.
UPDATE @ 5:27 p.m.: A widespread power outage continues in the area east of the Dayton Mall, along state Route 725 east between Lyons Road and Yankee Street.
Power is out at several businesses in that area (Miamisburg Centerville Road) — including Walgreens, Sunoco, Chick fil-A and a strip mall.
Traffic lights along 725 are working.
At 5:30 p.m., the DP&L online map is showing 1,553 outages in Montgomery County.
Tommy Segi, manager at the Chick fil-A, 1482 Miamisburg Centerville Road, said the power has been out at his restaurant for approximately an hour.
FIRST REPORT
Electric line crews are responding to a reported power outage in the Dayton Mall area.
Dayton Power and Light reported at 4:50 p.m. that 1,547 of their customers were without power.
DP&L started receiving calls from customers about the outage at approximately 4:23 p.m., a spokesperson said.
The source of the outage is in the Dayton Mall area and a line crew is headed there to investigate and make repairs, the spokesperson said.
