Preble Co. Children Services Comes Under Fire

The Preble County Department of Children Services is coming under fire after a judge said the agency is not dong enough to protect children.

Judge Wilford Dues last week cited several cases of child abuse that he said were allowed to continue even after being reported.

Preble County commissioners met Monday morning on the matter and said they support a call for an investigation.

Bill Withrow, president of the Preble County Commission, said, "There were some complaints." He said the complaints involved from what he understood three children. He said two were from one family and one from another family.

Withrow said the commission itself cannot conduct the investigation, but has agreed to ask the State Department of Job and Family Services to look into the complaints.
