Preble driver hurt after running red light, hitting semi

UPDATE @ 2 p.m.

The white pickup truck ran the red light and struck the semi, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was ejected. He was conscious, breathing and talking as he was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.

A second pickup truck also sustained damages as a result of the crash.

UPDATE @ 1:30 p.m.

The Preble County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what appears to be a three-vehicle crash: A semi and two pickup trucks.

The intersection is open, but northbound traffic on Ohio 127 is blocked.

FIRST REPORT

We’re responding to the report of a semi tractor-trailer colliding with a car at Ohio 127 and U.S. 40 in Preble County.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Early reports indicated there was one possibly serious injury.
