I-75 reopened after fiery semi crash

Firefighters and Miami County HAZMAT crews responded to a crash where a semi tractor trailer was fully engulfed in fire early Friday morning.

I-75 north was shut down for more than five hours and was reopened to traffic around 6:45 a.m.

The crash happened on Interstate 75 north around 1:20 a.m on the bridge near the County Road 25A exit. The driver, identified as Jeffrey Goolsby, 51, reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck the bridge.

HAZMAT was called to clean up a diesel fuel spill, due to leaking tanks on the semi.

Goolsby was taken to an area hospital by CareFlight, and was treated and released. Charges are pending
