Medical issue blamed for crash into decorative pond in Warren County

UPDATE @ 6:35 p.m.: The driver of a car that crashed into a very shallow decorative pond in front of a landscaping business has been taken to a hospital after suffering what is believed to be a medical emergency, a Clearcreek Twp. fire captain said.

The person, who was in the car alone, was headed south in the 9100 block of state Route 48, near East Lytle 5 Points Road, when the accident occurred, the fire captain said.

The car hit decorative stones around a shallow pond in front of Holiday Concepts of Ohio, a landscape lighting designer.

There was less than 3 feet of water in the pond, the captain said.

There's no word on the driver's condition.

INITIAL REPORT

A water rescue is underway in Warren County.

Around 5:45 p.m. Monday, a car went into a pond in the 9000 block of Ohio 48 in Clearcreek Twp., Warren County. A driver has reportedly been pulled from the vehicle.

Clearcreek Twp. firefighters are on scene today.
