Richmond Company To Lay Off 135 Employees

A company in Richmond, Ind., announced on Friday that it is reducing its hourly workforce at their Richmond plant.

Belden said approximately 50 temporary and 85 regular-status employees will be laid off by the end of April.

Vice President of Human Resources for Belden, Charles Leaman, said, “We regret the impact these actions have on our employees and their families. It is necessary for Belden to make adjustments in production form time to time. If conditions change, we will recall the laid-off employees as soon as possible.”

Beldon employs about 1,000 people in the Richmond area.

Belden is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of signal transmission solutions for data networking and a wide range of specialty electronics markets, including entertainment, industrial, security and aerospace applications.
