Riverside city manager search down to two

Two candidates remain in the search for Riverside’s new city manager, Mayor Bill Flaute said.

Jennifer Hutchinson, the finance director and assistant city administrator for the city of Marysville, and Leslie Kohli, the township administrator at Springfield Twp. in Lucas County, Ohio, are the final two candidates in contention for the position.

Alex Mattingly, the chief administrative officer of the City of Elsmere, Ky., who was one of the initial ‘final three’ candidates, withdrew on Monday, Flaute said.

Flaute said the final decision will likely be made after the next city council meeting on June 16.

Before working in Marysville, Hutchinson was the finance director of the city of Wyoming, and she also served as the assistant auditor for the State of Ohio.

Kohli also serves as the human resource and economic development director for the township. Kohli has served Springfield Twp. for over nine years, and worked in the law sector in Northwest Ohio prior to that.

Riverside began the interview process on May 24, initially considering 10 candidates.

The Dayton suburb’s former city manager, Bryan Chodkowski, resigned in January after nine years in Riverside. In April, he was hired as the manager of Enfield, Conn.

Riverside’s city manager position was briefly filled by Assistant City Manager Emily Christian before Interim City Manager James Percival was named. Percival told this news source that Christian is leaving Riverside Friday to begin a position in Miamisburg.
