Hundreds of attempted scams were reported locally last year, costing area residents hundreds of thousands of dollars, a Dayton Daily News investigation found. Scammers aggressively target the vulnerable and elderly, we found, making Ohio the 17th most targeted state in America for robocall scams during tax season.
