Second Dayton-area Tudor’s Biscuit World set to open this fall

Ground broke on the building at 130 N. Broad St. in July, a second Dayton-area location. The other opened in Xenia eight years ago.

The 2,500-square-foot restaurant will hold 40-50 customers and employ about 20, according to previous reports from the Dayton Daily News.

The Charleston, W.Va.- based chain operates about 70 restaurants in Virginia, along with a handful in southeast Ohio and eastern Kentucky.

“We’re in the process of trying to revitalize our downtown area including that part of Broad Street,” said Fairborn assistant city manager Mike Gebhart.

Tudor’s franchise owner Hank Roysden purchased the property from the city of Fairborn in November, making him the first to buy one of four properties that previously housed motels. These properties were purchased by the city to help bring the downtown area back to the “Golden Age” when people walked down the city’s streets, passing more occupied storefronts, Gebhart said.

“There’s no reason why we can’t have a second Golden Age, and I think Tudor’s Biscuit World is the start,” Gebhart said.
