Police have not released information on how the man died, WBNS reported.
Police responded to the home and called in SWAT based on threats the man was making, officers said.
The man fired gunshots at officers, according to local police, but it is unknown if officers fired shots in return.
Police said the man was armed and had pets inside the home, according to WBNS.
No injuries to police have been reported at this time and nearby neighbors are allowed back in their homes.
