Power restored for residents of Champaign County

UPDATE @ 10:10 p.m.:

Power has been restored for residents of Champaign County, except for the Champaign County Fair Grounds, according to Rob Beeler, company spokesperson for DP&L.

The problem seems to stem from beyond the fairgrounds, and crews are isolated to restore powers.

DP&L customers were without power for about two hours, with the first outage reported at 8:15 p.m.

UPDATE @ 9:35 p.m.:

The Champaign County Fair has closed early due to a power outage, according to a representative at the Champaign County Fair Grounds.

Roughly 1,600 customers are still without power, according to Champaign County dispatch.

FIRST REPORT:

Thousands of Dayton Power & Light customers are without power in Champaign County.

There are 1,397 customers without power, according to the DP&L online outage map.

Most of the customers without service appear to be in Urbana.

The DP&L outage map also states power should be restored around 10 p.m.
