Store Closes After 35 Years In Business

A staple in the Belmont district in Dayton is now closing its doors after nearly four decades in business.

The Ace Music Superstore said the struggling economy is the reason why it is closing.

The store closed a few days ago, but Tuesday was moving day.

At the height of Ace Music Superstore’s 35-year run there were more than two dozen employees and many music enthusiasts, who would routinely clutter their many rooms.

“I bought my first drum set here,” said Rocky Twarek from Dayton.

Husband and wife duo Caroline and Larry Brandenburg owned the store. Caroline said the struggling economy hit them hard.

The Brandenburg’s have decided to sell the building, but not the business. Instead they are passing some of their most cherished items to their son’s music store which is located out of town.

The store may be closed but the owners said they will honor any outstanding gift certificates, items on layaway or installations already scheduled.
