Storm Center 7 explains: Why we saw such strong weekend storms

Lightning, heavy downpours, hail, strong winds — we saw all of it it pop up in spots throughout the Miami Valley from Friday night through Sunday night.

In some cases, storms came on in just a matter of minutes. Severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings were issued as a result.

So why did it get so bad, so quickly? And why did some parts of the Miami Valley region see none of it, remain bone dry and see blue skies?
