Students invent possible life-saving condom

According to a report from the Daily Mail, three English teens have invented a condom that will glow when it detects a sexually transmitted disease.

The teens revealed the condom at the TeenTech awards in London. The condom will contain an indicator that will glow in various colors depending on what type of STD it detects.

The three teens are ages 13 and 14 and attend the Isaac Newton Academy.

"We wanted to create something that make detecting harmful (STDs) safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes without the invasive procedures at the doctors," 14-year-old Daanyaal Ali told the Daily Mail.

As a reward, the trio will be invited to a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

According to the Daily Mail, the condoms will glow chlamydia, yellow for herpes, purple in the presence of the human papillomavirus which causes genital warts, and blue for syphilis.

Wanting to purchase these special condoms? As of now, the condoms are just concepts, but the teens hope to market and sell the condoms.
