Suit Over Coaster Jolt Goes To Trial

A trial is set to start over a woman's claim that an Ohio roller coaster caused an injury that will require her to get several hip replacements over her lifetime.

Jennifer Wright says she was hurt in a July 2006 accident on the Son of Beast coaster at Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati. A jolt sent 27 people to the hospital.

Wright's attorney has said her medical bills have exceeded $24,000 and that she could need three hip replacements down the road costing up to $157,000. If a jury finds Kings Island liable, the lawsuit seeks punitive damages for Wright, who's from Defiance in northwest Ohio.

The trial beginning Thursday is expected to run three days.

Attorneys for Kings Island say they don't discuss pending litigation.
