Super Wal-Mart Opens, Brings Hundreds Of Jobs To Xenia

A new super Wal-Mart opened in Xenia, offering shoppers thousands of items to choose from and bringing hundreds of new jobs to the area.

The old store on Progress Drive was considered a general merchandise store. The new one is a super center and is double the size with double the employees.

The store has more than 200,000 square feet with room for about 360 employees.

Store manage Joni Wyatt said there are about 180 more jobs with the new store than with the old. She said the store also has a full grocery complete with a deli and bakery.

The old Wal-Mart was closed for good a couple of days ago. Officials said someone has bought the building, but there is no word on what will be done with it.
