“Our projected opening is mid-June,” the spokesman said. “We will be rolling fresh hot Cinnabons on site, and we will have a large coffee selection as well, including cold-brew coffee. We will also have a wide variety of take-home packs.”

The Dayton area “has always been a great market,” the spokesman said.
The new Cinnabon will be located in a kiosk near the entrance to Macy’s in the mall’s center-court area, according to Dave Duebber, general manager of the Dayton Mall.

A Cinnabon shop has operated for several years in the Mall at Fairfield Commons under separate franchise ownership, and there is also a shop at a Flying J center on Northwoods Boulevard in Vandalia, according to the Cinnabon web site.

But the Cinnabon that had operated for years at the Dayton Mall shut down in late December 2016. At the time, the company said it would look for a franchisee to reopen the Dayton Mall location and perhaps add other shops in venues such as Liberty Center in Butler County.

The mall’s general manager said he receives frequent inquiries from Dayton Mall shoppers about Cinnabon.
“They’ve been asking for it, and asking when it’s coming back, ever since it left,” Duebber said. “Folks here have really missed their Cinnabons.”
