Take a sneak peek at Kings Island’s new roller coaster

Construction on Kings Island’s new roller coaster is taking shape.

Mystic Timbers is set to open this coming spring and will become the Warren County amusement park's 16th roller coaster.

Built by Pennsylvania-based Great Coasters International and themed to an abandoned lumber company, the 109-foot-tall coaster will traverse 16 airtime hills, a mid-course tunnel and interact with parts of the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad and White Water Canyon attractions.

The 3,265-foot journey will weave its way along steep cliffs, down ravines, cross over water and go through an extreme S-turn, among a densely wooded area at speeds of up to 53 mph. The end will reveal the ride’s big mystery: What’s in the shed?
