By combining resources, the RANGE Task Force will be able to take a more proactive approach to reducing major crimes from occurring in Montgomery County.
The task force is designed to mainly focus on drug complaints and drug traffickers, but it will have the ability to also investigate other areas of organized crime to include, but not limited to burglary and theft rings, serial robberies and other offenses.
As of June 1, the following agencies have committed personnel to the task force:
* Montgomery County Sheriffs Office * Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation * Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms * Trotwood Police Department * Clayton Police Department * Five Rivers Metro Parks * Miami Township Police Department * Perry Township Police Department
The joint task force kicked off on Tuesday.
