Tax Center services set to launch Feb. 1

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s Tax Center plans to begin offering services to active-duty members, retirees and dependents Feb. 1 and continuing through April 17.

The center, in Bldg. 70, Area A, will be reserved to service only E-1 through E-3 via walk-in appointments the first two weeks, Feb. 1 to 16.

Starting Feb. 19, the Tax Center will be open to all military, retirees and dependents by appointment only. Appointments can be made as early as Feb. 1 by calling the center at 937-656-1423.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Limited Saturday and evening appointments are possible based on availability. These appointments may also be set beginning Feb. 1.

“We want all eligible members to take advantage of this service,” said Capt. Kristian Diggs, assistant staff judge advocate in the 88th Air Base Wing Legal Office.

In 2016, the Tax Center helped the base community prepare 1,234 federal and state returns, saving individuals more than $480,000 in tax preparation fees and returning $2.5 million in state and federal tax returns to individuals.
