Threat Puts Clark Co. School On Lockdown

A local school was put in lockdown on Thursday, forcing students to stay inside.

Students are Springfield-Clark JVS were forced on lockdown after a mother said someone threatened to shoot her 17-year-old son.

School officials said they put the school on lockdown as a precaution.

Investigators said Centerville police called the school, warning them that they had learned that someone had made a serious threat against a student.

Students that NewsCenter 7 spoke to said they are glad that school officials took precautions to keep them safe.

Deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. They said no one ever did come to the school threatening any kind of violence.

Officers said it appears the incident stems from tensions between two students. Police also said a parent of the other teen could be part of the investigation.
