A series of intersection studies showed that the traffic signal was not necessary and could be removed, Montgomery County engineer Paul Gruner said.

A traffic signal at the intersection of Wagner Ford Road and Rolfe Avenue will be removed by April, a Montgomery County engineer said in a release.
The signal has not been operating since April of last year and the Esther Dennis Middle School, near the intersection, is closed.
