Provisional data for 2018 indicates there were 359 OVI-related fatal crashes in which 394 people were killed.

State troopers make more than 26,000 OVI arrests each year “in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers,” according to the release.
The checkpoints are designed to “proactively remove these dangerous drivers from our roadways.”
