Troy Motel Fire Exceeds $15,000 In Damages

Authorities said a fire at a Troy motel caused around $15,000 in damage.

The fire happened late Sunday afternoon at the Best Western located near Interstate 75 on Route 55. Firefighters said the fire started in a room used as an office for catering services.

They also said an adjacent room suffered damage in the fire. Firefighters said an electrical short near a fax machine could be the cause of the fire.

Investigators said no one was injured in the fire.
