Those looking for holiday lunch destinations have two options in December from two full-service Dayton-area restaurants that are not normally open for lunch the rest of the year.

Carvers Steaks & Chops at 1535 Miamisburg-Centerville Road (Ohio 725) in Washington Twp. and Jay's Restaurant at 225 E. Sixth St. in Dayton's Oregon District — two restaurants that are dinner-only establishments for 11 months of the year — are open for lunch on weekdays during December to accommodate holiday get-togethers, office parties and other seasonal gatherings.

Carvers will serve holiday lunches on weekdays through Friday, Dec. 27, while Jay’s will serve weekday lunches through Friday, Dec. 20.  The lunch hours at both restaurants are 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Both restaurants are serving a special lunch menu, and private rooms are available at both Jay’s and Carvers.

Both restaurants say reservations are recommended but not required. To make reservations at Carvers, call (937) 433-7099. To make reservations at Jay’s, call (937) 222-2892.
