Upper Valley JVS Expansion Dedicated In Weekend Ceremony

The first major expansion at the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School in its 13-year history in Piqua was dedicated on Sunday.

Robert Schwartz, of Troy, and Nathan Rowell, of Houston, are students in the heating and air-conditioning program at the school. They are in the new portion of the complex.

Officials said even teachers have been raving about the expansion. Officials said the $7 million project came in under budget by close to $1 million.

Voters in the 14 school districts that encompass the Upper Valley JVS passed a bond issue in November 2003 for the project.
