Four members of the Cincinnati Reds kneeled during the national anthem before an exhibition game against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park.

Joey Votto, Amir Garrett, Phil Ervin and Alex Blandino took a knee alongside other teammates who were standing.

Votto has worn a Black Lives Matter T-shirt during Summer Camp practices, while Garrett has been outspoken about the movement on social media and in interviews.

The Reds open the 2020 season on Friday against the Tigers in Cincinnati.
