Warped Wing Brewing Company is installing two large fermentation tanks today that will allow the downtown Dayton brewery to more than double its current production, Warped Wing co-founder Joe Waizmann said today, Oct. 27.

And next week, the brewery will release its third annual collaboration beer with Esther Price Candies.

The two new 120-barrel fermentation tanks, along with a third similar tank installed earlier this year, “will allow us to meet our sales and production projections through the next calendar year,” Waizmann said. Each 120-barrel tank holds about 3,700 gallons.

The new tanks should be fully operational within a couple of weeks, the brewery co-founder said.

Warped Wing has been a success story. Less than a year after it opened its doors in January 2014, the brewery signed a lease on a second facility north of downtown to accommodate the stronger-than-projected sales of its beers, both in kegs and in pint cans for retail sales. A restaurant inside the brewery opened in 2015.

In addition, Warped Wing will celebrate the 2016 release of its Esther’s Li’l Secret, its annual collaboration brew with Esther Price Candies, starting at 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the brewery and tasting room at 26 Wyandot St.

The party will feature the release of this year’s “secret” beer along with a special Esther Price Candy pairing to accompany this year’s offering. The beer will hit the retail market Nov. 7, when it will be available on draft in restaurants and bars. It will also be available in 4-Packs of 16-ounce cans in retail establishments and in the Warped Wing taproom.
